The inspiring video same-sex marriage activists won’t want you to see: Bring it on!

Maryland Marriage Alliance posted an inspiring video supporting gender-integrated marriage.  The clip showcases a montage of speakers and pastors of different ethnic backgrounds speaking out against gay marriage.

Highlights:

“We will not lie down in the face of renewed efforts to redefine this institution [marriage] which is timeless and priceless to society.”

“Marriage has been between one man and one woman.  This definition is self-evident.  It is not subject to redefinition by the whims of political correctness today.”

“What about our children?  What will we do with our textbooks?  Where are their minds going to go?”

“Those who oppose it [SSM] must be treated as bigots to be stamped out.  They seek to force this view in all institutions in society, including our schools.  Parents’ rights to raise their children are not given input.”

“They also place their claim of a right to gay marriage above even our religious liberties.”

“We’re told that the other side is back . . . that the passage of same-sex marriage in the next session is inevitable.  Well, we have something to say about inevitability.   And with all humility let me say:  Bring it on!”

“We faced inevitability before and we beat it.  And we will do it again!”

FBI’s new definition of rape includes same-sex victims and non-traditional penetration

Our culture has changed since 1929 when the FBI last defined “rape.”  The old, outgoing definition recognized the rape of females:  “Carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.”  The new clarification in their Uniform Crime Reporting program is broader and refers to vaginal, anal, and oral penetration.  The definition from the FBI’s website:

“Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

In a sad, but true acknowledgment of the times:  males will now be counted as victims.  The new definition includes same-sex rapes, such as Sandusky allegedly committed.

The New York Daily News reports that the new definition duplicates the ones currently used by police and that “rape will now include sex attacks by relatives, and include non-traditional penetration.”

Rape statistics were difficult to compile since they were reported and prosecuted using different terms.  From the NY Daily News:

“We prosecute by one criteria, but we report by another criteria,” said Steve Anderson, chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to the New York Times. “The only people who have a true picture of what’s going on are the people in the sex-crimes unit.”

The new definition of rape will facilitate a more complete picture of rape crimes in the U.S.  Women’s rights groups hope it will encourage more victims to report crimes.

Companies covering gender reassignment costs for transgender persons doubles

The number of companies covering gender reassignment costs for transgender persons has doubled in the past year.

Per CNS News:
The Human Rights Campaign said in a report to be published Thursday that 207 of the 636 businesses it surveyed for its annual Corporate Equality Index either are already providing transgender- inclusive employee health benefits or plan to at the start of the new year.
Why do LGBT activists say people with same-sex attraction are “born that way” and changing them with reparative therapy is homophobic?  But then they say transgender persons are born that (wrong) way so companies should cover operations to change their genders?

HRC grades companies based on how much they adhere to the homosexual agenda.  To get a 100% rating as well as listed in their “preferred vendors' guide for gay, lesbian and transgender consumers, companies had to offer at least one insurance plan that covers at least $75,000 worth of surgery and other treatments recommended by a patient's doctor.”

$75,000?  No wonder health insurance costs keep escalating.

Why do gay activists insist people with opposite-gender attraction are treatable but not people with same-sex attraction?

Video: Glen Beck and Michele Bachmann discuss woman using son Elijah to promote gay agenda

Gay rights activists are now recruiting children as young as eight:

Glenn Beck asked Michele Bachmann about the 8-year-old boy Elijah, who whispered to her at a book signing in South Carolina that his mommy was gay and didn’t need fixing.  The boy whispered so quietly that Bachmann asked him to repeat it three times.  In the audio you can hear the mom urging him on, but the child’s voice is almost inaudible.

Beck asked Bachmann, “People are using kids to attack you.  Obviously the kid doesn’t want to say this . . . How do you navigate in that kind of world where you’re being, I think, set up every time to look like a homophobe.  Are you a homophobe?"

Bachmann:  "Of course not.  I believe that we love all people.  I do; I love them.  I don’t necessarily agree with them but I love them . . . continually the agenda-driven community wants to climb up on my platform and make their issue my issue and try to paint me as someone that I’m not.”

Bachmann opposes gender-segregated marriage and giving special rights to people based on what they do in their sex lives.  “The law needs to apply the same to all people.  We have equal protection under the law.”

The Vermont Human Rights Commission joins lawsuit supporting gender-segregated marriage

The Vermont Human Rights Commission joined the lawsuit against the Wildflower Inn filed by New Yorkers, Katherine Baker and Ming Linsley.  The unigender couple sued the owners of the Vermont inn for declining to host the wedding reception for their gender-segregated marriage.

Jim and Mary O’Reilly, the Catholic owners of the inn say hosting a wedding reception for two women “goes against everything that we as Catholics believe in.”  Recognizing the importance of complementary genders, Catholics celebrate gender-integration in marriage.

The Burlington Free Press reported that "a judge has given the commission permission to intervene in the American Civil Liberties Union's discrimination lawsuit on behalf of Katherine Baker and Ming-Lien Linsley of New York."

Apparently the Vermont Human Rights Commission wants to force Vermonters to act contrary to their religious convictions.

Why does the religion of gender-segregation trump the belief that genders are complementary? Does VHRC have the right to impose its religious views on others?

Supreme Court of Canada gets schooled on sodomy, buggery, and homosexual behavior

In a case involving “hate” speech and religious freedom, Attorney Tom Schuck defended Bill Whatcott in front of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Lifesite News reports Whatcott was ordered to stop spreading information about homosexuality and fined $17,500 for violating the section of the province’s human rights code prohibiting speech that exposes to hatred or “otherwise affronts the dignity” of people “on the basis of a prohibited ground.”

No doubt the lengthy hearing “affronted the dignity” of many.  Some highlights:

Justice Rosalie Abella wanted to know:  Will children really die from homosexual behavior?

Attorney Tom Schuck:  “The fact is the medical evidence before you is that people who engage in same sex activities have a life expectancy of twenty years less than anybody else.”  “Why would any parent want their child exposed to that?”

Justice Marshall Rothstein:  “Isn’t buggery having sex with animals?”

Attorney Schuck:  That would be bestiality.  Buggery was the term used for sodomy in the criminal code before the law was struck down.

Justice Fish: “You say that it isn’t hateful to describe homosexual conduct as filthy and sick?”

Attorney Schuck: “Mr. Justice I think that putting a penis in an anus would be considered filthy by most people except those that have been sensitized to the gay culture.”  “Lots of people find that revolting and it spreads disease.”

Justice Abella: Why does Bill Whatcott “have to use hate” to warn people about the dangers of homosexual sex?

Attorney Schuck:  “Madam Justice that’s your characterization - that it was hate.”

So it’s ok for Justice Abella to call Whatcott’s speech hateful, but calling sodomy “filthy” is illegal in Canada?

Instead of calling it filthy, how about if Whatcott calls sodomy hateful?  Would that be legal?

Rick Santorum points out that gay sex is different and same-sex marriage will have huge impact

Rick Santorum explained the consequences of gender-segregated marriage at a college campus Monday evening.  College grad Jason Kornelis asked Santorum about his stand on same-sex marriage, comparing it to interracial marriage.  Kornelis wondered how marriage equality would "be a hit to faith and family in America."

ABC News reports:
Santorum then said that if same sex marriage was legalized then “their sexual activity” would be seen as “equal” to heterosexual relationships and it would be taught in schools.
In fact, this is already happening.  After legalizing gender-segregated marriage, New York updated its sex ed curriculum.  Regarding same-sex attraction, the principal of a Connecticut high school said studying same-sex attraction is as important as anything in math and social studies.  And California passed a law requiring educating school children about the positive achievements of LGBT people.

Santorum continued:
“So what is going to be taught to our people in health class in our schools? … So, you are going to have in our curriculum spread throughout our curriculum worldview that is fundamentally different than what is taught in schools today? Is that not a consequence of gay marriage?”
Kornelis still did not agree.  But he is not the only one baffled.  The Huffington Post reported Santorum's comments with the lead:  “Santorum Makes Baffling Comments on Gay Sex” and says “gay sex is not ‘equal’ to hetero sex.”

If gays really believed it were equal, why wouldn’t they be attracted to the opposite gender?  Wouldn't it be just the same?  The same sex?

In which case there would be no need for gender-segregated marriage.

From ABCs to LGBTs: Forcing school children to learn about homosexuals

Americans who don’t want their children recruited to the homosexual lifestyle are called “anti-gay.”  From the Bay Area Reporter:
“Not one but two anti-gay initiatives have been submitted to state officials in an effort to thwart Senate Bill 48, the Fair, Accurate, Inclusive, and Respectful Education Act.
In the first proposal, opponents are trying to alter the law so that California school students don't have to learn about LGBT Americans' historical contributions.”
Sexual behavior is saturated with ethical decisions. Nevertheless, the article calls child advocates “anti-gay” for seeking the right to follow their consciences:
“Anti-gay activists are also proposing a second initiative that would allow parents to opt their children out of school instruction in social science and family life that conflicts with their moral convictions.”  [Emphasis added.]
Gay rights activists employ name-calling tactics to avoid debating important issues such as gender segregation in marriage.  People seeking parental rights to opt children out of  LGBT instruction are called “anti-gay.” They accuse parental rights activists of targeting:  "It's very specifically targeted at LGBT people.”  The bill mandating instruction in the positive (not negative) achievements of LGBTs in history is called the “Fair, Accurate, Inclusive, and Respectful Education Act.”

The proponents of Bill 48 don’t want to let children opt out of instruction for religious reasons.  But they have no qualms about forcing their own religious convictions about homosexuality on others.
Bill 48 should be called the Biased, Incomplete, Coerced, and Targeting Education Act.

Video: Alliance Defense Fund announces victories for marriage

The Alliance Defense Fund announces two victories for marriage.  The defense of Proposition 8 moves forward in CA and British Columbia rejects polygamy and group marriage.
“In California, the state supreme court in a unanimous decision ruled that the Protectmarriage.com legal team, which includes several ADF attorneys, will be able to defend the state’s marriage protection amendment, Proposition 8 in federal appellate court.”
 Also, good news from Canada:
“The supreme court of British Columbia ruled that the Canadian government could continue to prohibit polygamy and group marriage, a decision that could have far reaching effects on marriage not only there but in America as well.”

Trevor Project director says attention on LGBT youth suicide increases risk of suicide

Peter Sprigg posted a crucial connection on the Family Research Council: drawing attention to bullying and suicides of LGBT youth in the media causes an increased risk of suicide:
David McFarland is “interim executive director and CEO” of The Trevor Project, which runs a suicide prevention hotline for “LGBT” youth. McFarland cited the political and cultural “benefit from showcasing the health crisis of disproportionate rates of suicide and incidences of bullying that affect LBGT young people.” However—in an astonishing admission—he also acknowledged that “this tactic has also increased suicide risk.”
Got that? Here is a pro-homosexual activist admitting that “this tactic” (“showcasing . . . suicide and . . . bullying”) “has also increased suicide risk” (emphasis added).

In The Advocate, McFarland noted, “Suicide is closely tied to psychological well-being.”  And he pointed out, “Suicide attempts happen at disproportionately higher rates among LGBT people than any other demographic.”

What does this tell us about the "psychological well-being" of persons who identify themselves as LGBT?
