What if Chick-fil-A’s president was a black deaf woman?

It is wonderful to see all the support showered on Dr. Angela McCaskill, the Chief Diversity Officer at Gallaudet University who was put on administration leave for signing a petition to put same-gender marriage to a referendum vote in Maryland.

Both supporters and opponents of pro-gender marriage agree that McCaskill should be reinstated, and their outrage over the university’s actions to investigate her is fully warranted.

At long last, gay rights activists agree that just because a person supports marriage between one man and one woman, does not ipso facto mean that she is “anti-gay.”

It’s a shame gay rights activists didn’t realize this during the Chick-fil-A furor.

As president of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy offered people employment and chicken sandwiches regardless of their sexual orientation.  At Gallaudet University, McCaskill offered students with same-sex attraction resources and support.

When Cathy spoke up in favor of traditional marriage, liberals were outraged and called him "anit-gay" and threatened to block Chick-fil-A restaurants from opening in their cities.  But when McCaskill signaled support for pro-gender marriage, gay rights groups rallied around her.  Why the double standard?

Is it because Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy is not a deaf African American female?
